The FTC puts pressure on Google to settle over the antitrust talks or face a formal complaint

According to Bloomberg the FTC is turning up the heat on Google more than current antitrust talks about the company's practices. In fact, the FTC wants to resolve the issue, or it will move forward with a formal complaint. This can turn into a long, drawn-out legal procedure, which will be costly and time-consuming for both, to say the least.

The negotiations have gone for two weeks, but were completely private. The issues stem from Federal feeling that Google is "abuse" dominance of the Internet, especially when it comes to search engine.

Formal complaint could come within two weeks, the source told Reuters.

Google spokesman Adam Kovacevich, had this to say:

We continue to work in cooperation with the Federal Trade Commission and to answer any questions you have

Google has settled with the FTC in the past, specifically in terms of its practices when it came to bypassing privacy settings in Safari.

The FTC says that Google ranks the things she holds higher than its competitors, its search engine. For example, Yahoo! and Bing are crying foul because the marketers and advertisers could not see who performs better, thanks to Google these alleged practices. In addition, Google's Android is accused of "abuse", it holds patents to block other companies from the launch of smartphones.

At which point disruption and innovation transform into something illegal? We will learn soon. Personally, I feel like anti-competitive complaints certainly have a place in business and society, but I'm not so sure that this particular complaint will actually make their way through to the end ", which will be roughly implied for Google in the longrun. When you work on things that are just better than everyone else, tends to be problems. If what makes Google's ' cheating ' or not is for panels to decide, not public opinion.

Basically, why should Google settle if feels that has done nothing wrong?

Keep an eye out for more on this, it becomes hot.
